Digital Images by David & Stephanie Salter
ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHY by David and Stephanie Salter
Welcome to our new website. This site contains many examples of our photography. All of our images are available for sale by contacting us with your particular needs. Free use of some images for worthy causes will be considered. Also, hundreds of our photographs have been loaded into Fine Art America.com and Pixels.com where they may be purchased as prints on various media and in a very wide variety of sizes and formats. Our biographies are also available at these links. Clicking on the 3 parallel bars in the upper right of the header will open the extensive menu for navigating our web site. Obviously, the images presented here can best be perused and appreciated using a screen larger than a smart phone. Thanks for visiting.
Like many hundreds of thousands of others, we call ourselves photographers. The digital revolution has forever changed photography. Digital allows taking as many pictures as you wish for free and is widely available via traditional digital cameras, smart phones, i-pads, GoPros, drones and other devices. Digital images are downloaded into computers and stored on servers by the many trillions all over the world. They are integral to social media and networks. And, although even the old-timers like Ansel Adams did some tricky stuff in the darkroom, the digital format makes image manipulation with computer software much easier to do. As a consequence, digital images cannot be trusted. All this makes selling photographs more challenging as the market becomes increasingly saturated. The best photographers will always have a market for their work but the rest will struggle to find new niches that will help them stand out among the intense competition. We too are part of the struggle, experimenting with how our digital images are used and presented. We are both photographers but David's computer skills and high tolerance for "pixel-tedium" make him the principle "Photoshopper." The following pages show what we do.
